The Clean and Safe Ambassadors are all fully trained in Public Safety, Urban Cleaning Techniques and Customer Service.  They tour our 38-block district several times each day to create a neighborhood which is Clean, Safe and Welcoming!

DTID's Clean & Safe Ambassadors are typically deployed 7-days per week from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, and during special events. 

These Ambassadors sweep sidewalks and gutters, eliminate litter and debris, remove graffiti and unsightly weeds, pressure wash sidewalks, offer hospitality and directions, work with TPD to reduce panhandling and discourage other inappropriate behavior, as well as offering after-hours safety escort for tenants of the District properties. 

By creating a more positive image of cleanliness, public safety and economic vitaility in Downtown Toledo, our objective is to attract new customers for our members' businesses, increasing sales, raising commercial and residential occupancy rates and enhancing property values.  It is our intent is to make Downtown Toledo a cleaner, safer and ultimatly more inviting place for people to want to visit, work, live and invest.
